BODstudio is an adorable small group training studio in Davisville – minutes from the TTC. Set against a white painted brick wall, with fabulous exposed wood columns and state of the art flooring, it is a welcoming and calming place. Until you look up at the chalkboard and see that real work is about to begin.
After a warmup of progressive “ape crawling” – apparently this is a bear crawl but with your hips and butt high in the air – we got right into our workout, where it was clearly lunge day. We did three sets (each time decreasing in reps) of ALL of the types of lunges I can think of. Holding weight, we lunged forwards, backwards, laterally, and criss-cross behind our front legs. Not only that, but between exercises that built some serious glutes, we rotated through great ab work and even some broad jumps across the studio.
I LOVED taking the class with Christie Preston, new friend, Well TO Do photoshoot model and BODstudio owner. There was a lot of pressure trying to keep up with the person who actually designed the particulars of the small group training, as Christie is a force to be reckoned with. Trainer, studio owner, lululemon ambassador and incredibly lovely person, she has created a wonderful space, recruited teachers who also embody the #BODlove spirit and we can’t wait to go back.
Check out BODstudio’s schedule and offerings here. They also run handstand workshops (Handstand Happy Hour) that have motivated us to become handstand people. Neither of us at Well TO Do have ever had so much fun trying to be upside down (or working out on a Friday night…). Highly, highly recommended!
Big thanks to Christie, Yianna and BODstudio for the amazing class, workshop and photos.
