Glow Goals is a column dedicated to our shared skincare obsession and a chance to peek inside the beauty cabinets of the most dedicated (obsessed?) skincare devotees.
Following the first installation with our own Alyssa Ages, it was only natural to look next to the cabinet of our President and Co-Founder, Eme Housser.
The Main Event
I actually assembled this beautiful white cabinet all by myself, after having consulted with friends for weeks about which cabinet would best display my beloved natural beauty products.
After sharing a small and terribly laid out (an old spa size tub took up 3/4 of the space) bathroom for three years, my husband and I now use separate bathrooms in our new house, so this cabinet is all mine.

Do you need so many different types of body oil?
Yes. I’ve been on the natural beauty train for a while now but was very late to the realization that body oil is actually the best at moisturizing your skin. I generally apply most of these at night before bed or in the morning on weekends when I have a bit more time to get ready.
Body oil can serve different purposes, at least for me. I tend to rotate nightly application of the Way of Will oil, which has a subtle cedarwood scent, and the Wildcraft body oil, which is more fragrant, smelling strongly of camellia, which I love. I also apply the 8 Faces oil every night, but only on scars, lines, cellulite and other problem areas.
What’s that scrub hiding in the back?
My husband travels a lot, but he embraces my natural beauty obsession by bringing back these handmade natural sugar cane scrubs whenever he is in the Caribbean.

Is this your whole makeup collection?
As an early 20-something I was really into colourful makeup and hair and even went to school for makeup artistry. Now that my skin has cleared in terms of redness and texture thanks to a natural skincare routine, I find I don’t want to wear that much makeup. I will also admit to having gotten much lazier and busier. Tinted brows help the minimal makeup thing, though, and I do get these done every month at Gee Beauty.
Day to day I wear Fitglow Beauty Mascara (I tried a bunch of others and found they weren’t near as good), Graydon Skincare‘s Face Glow moisturizer and illuminator (this product is a serious lifesaver – it evens out your skin tone, smells like heaven and is a perfect primer for foundation if you want to apply some), W3ll People bronzer and da lish foundation when I need a little extra coverage or have a big client meeting.
What is that tub that says Gold & Snail doing here?
This magical little tub purchased from Amazon is full of eyemasks made with snail mucin (said to help your cells produce more of their own collagen) that I use whenever I have a little bit of under eye puffiness or fatigue.
One hundred percent. These are some of my favorites: Pura Botanicals‘ watermelon mask for when my skin feels dehydrated or I just want to smell like watermelon all night; Cardea AuSet’s Noire charcoal mask for the ultimate ‘detoxed’ feeling; Skin Owl‘s Beauty Whip is good anytime you want a little extra hydration but not any extra weight, and Tata Harper‘s Clarifying Mask, which has definitely helped reduce the redness usually inherent in my cheeks. One last shout out to the Herbivore Blue Tansy mask for, well, being so blue and cleansing.
No self respecting natural beauty aficionado (obsessive?) wouldn’t have at least two serums, so here is my small serum collection. For daytime, I love to mix the Odacité green tea + lemongrass serum with the Holistic Vanity Hyaluronic lotion, or simply layer the lotion over the Flawless by Friday Booster Serum. The May Lindstrom serum is rich and nourishing and perfect for nighttime. The beautiful Odacité gua sha stone and the obsidian face roller from Pura Botanicals serve to work the serum deeper into your skin and I try to take time on weekends to really enjoy the ritual.
Do you really need so many floral face spritzers?
I love toning mists. Whether it is the irreplaceable Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence (the first one I tried), the Rosa rose-only spritz from Cardea AuSet or the Jasmine Green Tea mist from Herbivore, I love to spray these on my face after cleansing to help wake up my skin.
Hair and Body Care
While excessive on the mask and body oil fronts, I am rather minimal when it comes to shower items, alternating between the Graydon duo (the matcha mint shampoo is the best smelling shampoo I’ve ever come across) and the Rahua Classic duo, since they smell like palo santo, just like my favourite deodorant, room spray and of course the palo santo sticks that are all over my house.
In terms of body care, this Sudsatorium shower gel leaves you with a tingly clean feeling thanks to the mint infusion and the Weleda arnica shower gel is perfect for after heavy weightlifting sessions when you know you’re going to be sore, since arnica is said to help with muscle pain.
